The long haul. It’s the expensive fare and the one that moves most, so lock it in first. Hops on the busy hub routes are plentiful and cheap — add yours once the long haul is confirmed, then the hotel. The result page keeps the long-haul button primary for exactly this reason.

Yes, with eyes open. Nothing connects the two bookings: if a delay makes you miss the second flight, no airline owes you a rebooking. That’s why the overnight version ranks first — a whole night at the hub absorbs almost any delay. Same-day pairings are shown as cheaper variants and clearly flagged: verify at least three hours between landing and take-off before you book. At the hub you go through arrivals, collect your bag if you checked one, and check in again for the next flight.

Each ticket has its own bag rules, and a checked bag on a low-cost hop can cost more than the hop itself. Hand luggage only keeps the hop cheap and the hub morning simple. If you do check a bag, add both airlines’ fees to the total when you compare against flying direct.

Consider a travel policy that covers missed connections on separately booked tickets — some explicitly exclude self-transfers, so read that clause. For the overnight options the risk is small; for a same-day pairing it’s worth having.

No. They come from cached fare data, which is what lets one search try fifteen hubs at once — but fares move daily. Treat every number as an estimate and verify it on the booking site before you commit to any leg. If a fare has gone, the next-cheapest option is one click away.

Up to 6 months out. The fares Intervolo searches are densest for the next month or two and thin out beyond that, so closer in you’ll see the most hubs, the most dates and the sharpest totals. If a search comes back empty for a far-off month, try again closer to the date.

You pick the cities and how long you have; Intervolo picks the visiting order and the dates that make the chain cheapest. Every leg is its own ticket with at most one stop, and there are no hotel costs in the total — the stays are the trip. Pin a city to an exact number of nights, set a minimum stay, or finish in your last city instead of flying home. Surprise mode does the same over our whole city list when you only know how many places you want to see.

Not yet — Intervolo is in beta. Every price today is a cached fare, which is what makes searching fifteen hubs at once possible; we’re working on adding live fares so the total you see is the total you book. Until then, treat every card as a well-founded lead and verify it at booking.
